With two rounds to go in the 2008 championship, and in a commanding position to not only win the 2501-4000cc class, but running 2nd outright in the Victorian state championship, a high speed accident has ended the season early for the RAG Motorsports team. Race 1 at Sandown historics in front of the biggest crowd of the year, a wide exit at turn 1 had the Torana drop off the edge of the steep ripple strip. The car slid across the track to the infield hitting the armco railing at high speed. Whilst Garry was relatively unhurt, the car suffered season ending damage.
